Brampton, Canada – Medtronic Canada, a leader in medical technology, services, and solutions, is pleased to announce it has been recognized as one of Canada’s greenest employers for 2025- for the sixth consecutive year. The Brampton-based leader in healthcare innovation has made significant strides in its commitment to environmental sustainability. As part of its global initiative to reduce the environmental impact of healthcare, Medtronic has achieved remarkable progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, conserving resources, and minimizing waste.

Since 2020, Medtronic has reduced operational greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 52%, surpassing its goal of 50% by a year. Additionally, the company has lowered operational greenhouse gas emissions by 44%, sourced 42% of operational energy from renewables and alternatives, reduced water usage intensity by 28%, and cut operational waste intensity by 19%, exceeding its target of 15%.

"We have a long way to go to stop the unintentional environmental harm caused by healthcare” shares Maisie Cheung, sr. director of marketing, Medtronic Canada. “And there are more organizations who are paying attention and taking action to reduce their environmental impact.”

Medtronic Canada has been at the forefront of these efforts. The Canadian headquarters in Brampton, Ont. was the first Medtronic office globally to be certified as a LEED building. Medtronic Canada also co-founded the Canadian Coalition for Green Health Care and has continuously engaged with customers to expand sustainability initiatives across the country.
